Dean Swanda is a former Attorney for the Texas Court of Appeals.  Mr. Swanda worked in this position for ten years, before going into private practice.  Mr. Swanda specializes in both criminal, juvenile and CPS appeals.  Mr. Swanda is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.  Only a small percentage of Texas attorneys belong to this prestigious organization.  The College of the State Bar of Texas is made up of attorneys who every year voluntarily complete extended continuing education courses.  Mr. Swanda has written articles that have been published in prestigious legal periodicals.

Dean Swanda has cases in the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, and the United States Supreme Court.  These cases include reversals in the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.  Mr. Swanda also has a case pending in the United States Supreme Court.
